Stuffing your Kong

To give your dog maximum enjoyment from his or her Kong why not stuff it with one of these tasty recipe's which have been recommended by Kong and also satisfied Kong customers.

Banana Rama:

  • 1 x Fresh banana
  • 2 x Tablespoon wheat germ
  • 1 x Tablespoon plain yogurt
  • Any stuffable Kong
In a mixing bowl, mash up the banana. Then, add the wheat germ and yogurt. Mash all ingredients together, using a spoon stuff the filling in to your dog's Kong. Place the Kong in your freezer and leave for 4 hours. This recipe will make one serving for a medium sized Kong. Simply double the ingredients for every Kong size that is bigger.

Cheesy Dental Kong Delight
  • 3 x Slices of your pet's favorite cheese
  • Any Dental Kong toy
This is a very simple and creative way to make your cheese loving pet drool in delight. Just place the three slices of cheese directly into the grooves of your pet's Dental Kong (if model has rope - make sure cheese does not get onto it). Place the Kong in your microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. Give the Kong to your pet after it cools.

Philly Steak
Place small scraps of steak inside Kong toy. Spread cream cheese in large hole to hold scraps in place. Serve the Kong to your dog.

Veggie Kong Omelet
Scramble the egg and fold in the veggies. Put the mixture into the Kong toy. Sprinkle with cheese over the top and microwave for about twenty seconds. Cool thoroughly before giving to pet.

Mac 'N Cheese
Melt Velveeta in microwave until gooey. Add mac 'n cheese to Kong toy. Pour heated Velveeta into Kong. Make sure it has cooled before giving it to your pet.

Archeology Kong Filling

Fill your Kong toy (the larger the better!) in layers and pack as tightly as possible.

Layer 1: Kong Stuff’N Beef and Liver treats or similar treats if not available.
Layer 2: Kong Stuff’N Tail Mix or dry dog kibble, Cheerios, sugar-free, salt-free peanut butter, dried banana chips, apples and apricots.
Layer 3: Carrot sticks, turkey or leftover ravioli or tortellini.
Layer 4: The last item inserted should be an apricot or piece of ravioli, presenting a smooth "finish" under the main opening.

Simple, Tried and True
Smear a small amount of peanut butter or Kong Stuff’N Peanut Butter Paste inside the cavity of your Kong toy. It's that easy! Kong Stuff’N Liver Paste, Kong Stuff’N Breath Treat or Kong Stuff’N Puppy Treat also work great.

Safety Information

NO DOG TOY IS INDESTRUCTIBLE!

Kongs are safe, beneficial toys designed by people who know and love dogs. Supervise the use of all toys. Frequently inspect the toy when clean under a bright light. Look for damage (e.g., missing pieces, cracks, separations). Flex the dry toy and inspect it from different angles. Loose pieces larger than a food nugget can be harmful if swallowed.

Worn or damaged Kongs must be replaced promptly to maintain safe play for your puppy! If you think your puppy has swallowed a toy fragment (for example, if the toy was damaged and you cannot find every piece larger than a food nugget) promptly inform your veterinarian.

NOTE: If your puppy destroys a Puppy Kong in a short period of time, it is probably too small. We recommend upsizing to a larger Puppy Kong.

Precautions

Puppy Kong should not be given to puppies before they are weaned. If you have a multiple dog home, take extra care to keep large dogs away from smaller dogs toys.

Outgrowing Puppy Kong

Puppy Kongs are available for small, medium and large breeds. Proper sizing is important. Puppy Kong is uniquely formulated for puppy teeth and gums. When your puppy’s adult teeth are in (usually 6-9 months), discontinue use of Puppy Kong. At this age your puppy needs to be given toys that provide more exercise and resistance. Upsize to an adult strength red or black Kong properly sized for your breed. Ultimately your puppy's safety is your responsibility.
